Truth About Abs Review: 7 “Fatty” Foods that Help Get a Flat Stomach

Dark Chocolate: If you’re going to have any chocolate, be sure it’s dark chocolate since it contains a number of

compounds that actually HELP improve your health. Geary suggests dark chocolate that contains at least 72% of cacao. The higher the cacao content, the better, since the more cacao that chocolate contains, the lower the amount of sugar it has. Just a couple of squares of dark chocolate can do a lot to satisfy a sweet tooth compared to other desserts. Not only can that, but the antioxidant properties of dark chocolate do some good for your body, too! Theobromine has been shown to have some great health benefits by helping to contribute to lower blood pressure.

Coconut Milk, Flour, Oil: We have covered the benefits of MCT oil, which are Medium Chain Triglycerides contained in coconut oil and related-foods. It contains some great fats that are helpful for your brain health, as well as helping to boost your metabolism. Swap out regular flour for a healthier alternative of coconut flour since it has much higher amounts of protein and is gluten-free. Coconut milk is also a no-brainer for smoothie recipes as well. It’s delicious and fantastic for you!

Grass-Fed Butter:  Have you ever read about the benefits of butter in coffee? Read that article if you haven’t done so yet. It’s packed with Omega 3 and Omega 6 which are fantastic for your brain and heart-health. It helps control your blood-sugar levels, and keeps your appetite in-check. (Writer’s personal note: Kerrygold grass-fed butter is what I consume with my coffee.)

Whole Eggs: Eggs have developed a bad reputation for no good reason. A lot of nutrition gurus will tell you to consume egg whites only, which neglects a vital part: The yolk! Egg yolks are chock full of vitamins and minerals that you’d miss out on by eating only the egg whites. Geary recommends free-range, organic eggs since the hens are much better nourished than those in typical egg factories.

Grass-Fed Beef: Red meat has its benefits, but there is a huge difference between consuming grain or corn-fed beef versus grass-fed beef. Cattle are not meant to digest grain or corn, totally changing their internal chemistry, and thus affecting the quality of the beef you consume from them. If you don’t believe us, try it. Do a simple taste test between both types of beef and see for yourself. Beyond just the taste, the nutritional value of each one varies as well. Grass-fed beef has THREE TIMES the Vitamin E levels than grain-fed. There are a ton of other differences we won’t dive into in this article, but Geary explains it further in his book.

avocadosAvocados: If you’re from California, you are fortunate enough to have these in great abundance. What a great fruit. Yes, you read that correctly – avocados are fruit, not vegetables. That trivia aside, they are packed with good fats which have enormous benefits to your health. Antioxidants, micronutrients, vitamins, and minerals are all packed into this little green tasty treat. Try mixing avocado into a salad, or with some eggs to make a phenomenal meal. Need a snack? Cut an avocado in half, and sprinkle a tiny bit of pepper onto it for a treat that’s high in protein and good fats.

Nuts: These make a great snack, but one word of warning: You’ve got to monitor your portion size on these because you could end up consuming more than originally intended. Nuts are high in both fiber and protein, which help to increase fat loss and control your blood sugar level. Eat them raw for the most benefit!
