So, You Want to Know How to Lose Five Pounds in a Week?

The majority of the foods that people consume in the U.S. are processed, loaded with pesticides, antibiotics, preservatives, sugars, and artificial ingredients. Have you attempted to read the side of the box of whatever it is that you’re consuming? Can you understand the ingredients that are listed? That should be the first sign that what you’re eating is probably not the best for you. If it’s on a store shelf, beware. Anything put onto a grocery store shelf is meant to be kept there for an extended period of time, meaning that it has to have a long “shelf life.” In order to maintain a long shelf life, food needs to be chemically enhanced with preservatives so that it doesn’t rot. Think about the food that you ate today. Imagine that it has an expiration date two years from now… How does it feel knowing that the food you’re consuming has been chemically enhanced to survive another TWO YEARS? It should be disturbing to you.

The key: Eat food that can go bad quickly. Vegetables, fruit, lean meats. Stay away from anything that can survive years on the shelf. Twinkies, anyone?

Eating Cleanspinachkale

If you want to try to lose five pounds in a week, you’ve got to eat clean. Eating clean means only eating food that, like we said previously, is fresh and not processed. Aim for 1,800 calories for the day. Focus on the following foods, which not only taste great, but are packed with vitamins and nutrients essential for burning fat and growing muscle:

  • Kale
  • Spinach
  • Lean proteins like salmon, turkey, and chicken

Not on that list – Junk food. If it’s in your house, get rid of it!

Timing Food Correctly

Get your body on the right times to eat. We recommend three, 500-calorie meals with two 150-calorie snacks in between them. Once you do this for a couple of days, your body will get used to the timing of when you’re choosing to eat, and cravings will be reduced during your non-meal times.

Expand Your Tastes

Success leaves clues!

walkingPrepare yourself by having some recipes from people who know what they’re doing. Low-calorie, high protein meals are fantastic for helping you shed fat. Starving yourself does not help you lose weight. It helps you lose water weight (bad!) and eats away at your muscle (also bad!). Check out Anabolic Cooking if you’re looking for some suggestions on fat-busting meals that are low in calories.

Remember: There’s no need to deprive yourself of great-tasting food if you’re trying to lose weight quickly. You can eat well and lose weight!

Move Around!

Lastly, if you want to burn calories, you have a better opportunity to do so by moving around than by being stagnant. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Go for a walk around the block as soon as you wake up, or before heading to sit down in front of the television to watch The Bachelor. The more you can move around, the more calories you’ll burn, and the more you’ll accelerate your weight loss. Get moving, and bust that fat… You’ve got 7 days – now get to it!
